A&E Television Network has tapped Bellrock Media subsidiary Moderati to launch its first application for the Apple iPhone - a meter to measure levels of paranormal activity - to the international market.
The free software tool, being offered via the iTunes App Store in the US, UK, Australia, Latin America and South East Asia, is designed to tie in with AETN series Paranormal State.
The Paranormal State EMF Reader picks up fluctuations in electromagnetic fields, promising users a means to monitor ghoulish activity around them and can be downloaded to both the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Moderati, which is best known for its virtual Zippo lighter iPhone app, developed the product for AETN, marking the San Francisco-based company's first partnership with a TV network since former Endemol USA digital chief Jon Vlassopulos was appointed CEO.
"The application has already been downloaded by a large number of fans in the US, and has received rave reviews. We are thrilled to bring the Paranormal State app to international viewers of the series," said Fabienne Fourquet, director of digital media for AETN International.
