All tones were tested with Modtones and X-Ringer on a discontinued Motorola. The Kaimin does not endorse leaving cellular phones on or answering them during lectures, church services or meaningful conversations (or, at least set on “vibrate.”)

1. “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” Snoop Dogg, feat. Pharrell Williams. Tone: The “Goodfellas” of ringtones, sounding remarkably like the song itself, played on a tiny speaker with no bass response whatsoever.

In short, the tune to “Drop It Like It’s Hot” will impress all who don’t already own Billboard’s No. 1 tone. However, those who already have it will deride you for purchasing it as well, subsequently cramping their style and making them think their phone was ringing when it was yours the whole time, playa.

Suggested Use: Memories of the chorus will send a defiant message to those who hear your phone ringing. “When the pimp’s in the crib, ma, drop it like it’s hot,” says Snoop. “When the pigs try to get a ya, park it like it’s hot, and if a n**** get an attitude, pop it like it’s hot.” While encouraging caution in the presence of law enforcement officials, Snoop recommends a swift and carefree attitude toward violence. Using this tone could be a subtle way to tell others that you will use firearms when necessary. Highly recommended for handgun enthusiasts and those who oppose concealed weapons bans.
