San
Diego-based Qualcomm Inc. (Nasdaq: QCOM) announced Monday the winners
of its BREW 2005 developer awards, a global awards program that
recognizes and promotes the best BREW applications created by wireless
publishers and developers. The winners were revealed during an awards
ceremony at the BREW 2005 conference in San Diego. Best Ringtone Application winner was Modtones DJ by Moderati.
This year, Qualcomm expanded the BREW 2005 developer awards program, adding three new categories: Best Ringtone Application, Most Innovative Use of Technology and People's Choice Award. With the exception of the People's Choice Award, winners were determined using a points system based on several criteria including ease of use, originality, "cool factor," features and likelihood or evidence of success.
