SAN FRANCISCO-Faith West Inc. will offer licensed tracks from labels including EMI Music, Sony BMG Music Entertainment and RCA Label Group to U.S. Cellular, the mobile music company said.
Through Faith West's Modtones DJ, wireless users can download polyphonic, full-fidelity ring tones from artists such as Coldplay, Run DMC, The Strokes and Kelis. Tracks are priced at $2.99 each, and the charges will appear on a user's mobile phone bill.
"EMI's goal is to offer consumers more ways to enjoy music and make it part of their lives," said Ted Cohen, senior vice president of EMI Music Digital Development and Distribution. "We're delighted that U.S. Cellular subscribers will have access to music from EMI artists via Modtones."
Modtones DJ is also available through AT&T Wireless Services Inc., Verizon Wireless, Alltel and Cellular One.
