Moderati teams up with Rejection Hotline to offer Rejection Ringtones & Ringbacks

Sounds like a loser calling? Now you know in advance.

San Francisco, CA (July 11, 2006) - Giving out your number is always a dicey proposition, but sometimes it's unavoidable. To help ease the burn, Moderati has partnered with the Rejection Hotline® to introduce the Rejection Ringtone and the Rejection Ringback.

"The Rejection Hotline has gracefully solved the problem of having to give out your number in a bar to a complete loser," said Cindy Lundin Mesaros, vice president of marketing for Moderati. "We think it's an important social service, so extending it to ringtones is a no-brainer, for those instances when you had too many and accidentally gave out your real number."

The Rejection Hotline, with phone numbers in more than 80 U.S. cities, receives more than 2.6 million calls per month from would-be suitors whose objects of affection had, shall we say, passive-aggressive tendencies. Those unfortunate callers receive a voice message stating that they've been rejected. Its services have been featured on news outlets from CNN and the LA Times to ESPN Radio and Playboy Magazine

"Our Rejection Hotline numbers are a public service, helping people avoid calls from the take-a-hint-challenged or people who won't take ?NO' for an answer," says Jeff Goldblatt, the founder and voice of the Rejection Hotline. "But what about the creepy, overbearing, psycho-stalker types who somehow already HAVE your real number? We've received thousands of emails from people asking us for a way to address those situations too."

The Rejection Ringtone and its partner, Embarrass-a-Friend, are available on all participating carriers in Moderati's distribution network, as well as through www.modtones.com, for $1.99 each. The Ringback version will be introduced shortly.
