San Francisco, CA (August 04, 2005) - Mobile entertainment firm Moderati announced today the availability of DisTones, ringtones to assign to people you loathe, through its Modtones ringtone service.

For the ultimate dis, Moderati offers its silent ringtone, which effectively shuts down callers by sending them to voice mail without their knowledge. It even comes in different flavors: extra quiet silence, and a hip-hop version of silence. The company plans to offers both polyphonic (synthesized) silence for $1.99, and the master file, or "actual real live" silence, for $2.99.
Says Jeremy Xavier, creative director of Moderati, "For sizzurp heads, we flew to Texas to get a well-known DJ to do a screwed and chopped version of silence for us. That mellow, deep sound of the screwed version makes the silence infinitely cooler."
